Very well put. I couldn't agree more. Dogma is strangling the common sense and compassion out of the world. ~S

We were once primitive animals. We had advanced thought processes, though, and we used them to take stuff away from others, and make up stories about "where we came from." Now we're real sophisticated, and the stories we have made up are actually put to use in taking stuff away from others. Dogs may be better than us.

I believe in Dog, not God. Snarl when angry, wag when happy. When in doubt, sniff the butt.

This post reminds me of a quote by Woody Allen: "I don't want to achieve immortality through my works, I want to achieve immortality through not dying."

Shephard: Yes, enough with the dogma, already!

Larry: More dog than dogma for you, huh? I wonder whether we'll be able to use our great big brains to become enlightened? Or whether we'll just realize our brains got to big so we devolve and become happier and dumber (have you ever read Kurt Vonnegut's Galapagos? That's pretty much the theme and it is pretty funny/insightful.)

Don: Your comment reminded me of that Woody Allen quote "80% of life is just showing up." So welcome! : )

I'm still imagining no religion. Do I get brownie points? :) ~S

S ~ You get better than that, how about canonization? ; )
